Community
I love bringing people together, either in person or online, to create art and connect within community. These gatherings are often in collaboration with friends and co-creators.
The 18 Somethings Project
With powerhouse Janet Frishberg, we started this writing adventure in June 2013 as a means to empower others to unleash their creativity. To date, we’ve hosted a half-dozen editions with hundreds of participants in nearly 50 cities around the world. Sign up to hear about our next edition here.
Ashreinu
In 2015, while living in St. Louis for my MFA, I co-founded an independent, egalitarian spiritual community steeped in Jewish tradition and open to all. Ashreinu still gathers 2-3 times a month for virtual and in-person learning, prayer, and song.
Index/Fist
A women-led creative collective that publishes independent handmade magazines, Index/Fist has published more than a half-dozen zines since 2012. In each limited print run, hand-sewn issue is the work of writers, poets, illustrators, cartoonists, and creatives from around the country. We have hosted parties and readings for the launch of nearly every issue. Explore the zines.
Home-based gatherings & facilitation
I host one-off events in my home to foster creativity and community between artists, writers, and humans in the San Francisco Bay Area and St. Louis, MO. So far, I’ve coordinated a zine swap, three “make sh!t” nights (what it sounds like), a Leap Night dinner, and an open writing night.
